Sometimes we can feel lost as we go through life’s highs and lows. During trying times, we as American Christians can always turn to our faith and prayer to uplift ourselves. Here are some of our favorite prayers for this month to help inspire and uplift you through difficulties. Remember, always have faith, not fear.
Prayer for Strength to Cope with Challenges
God my Advocate, please come alongside
me with Your encouragement and strength as I cope with these daunting challenges. I’m feeling overwhelmed, but You are the restorer of my soul. I stand in faith that even though I sow in tears, I will reap with songs of joy. I praise You and thank You that blessing and prosperity will be mine when I fear You and walk in Your ways. Amen.
Prayer for Happiness
Grant to us, O Lord, the royalty of inward happiness, and the serenity which comes from living close to thee. Daily renew in us the sense of joy, and let the eternal spirit of the Father dwell in our souls and bodies, filling every corner of our hearts with light and grace; so that, bearing about with us the infection of good courage, we may be diffusers of life, and may meet all ills and cross accidents with gallant and high-hearted happiness, giving thee thanks always for all things.
Prayer for Peace of Mind and Spirit
O Father in heaven, I ask that you gladden and refresh my spirit. Purify my heart and mind so that I may be at one with you. Even when I am beset by troubles and despair, guide me toward your light and be my refuge. Through you, I no longer feel sorrow or grief. In your love, I can rejoice in everlasting happiness and joy. A Prayer for Strength and Courage
Lord God, Just as You told Joshua to be strong and courageous, so too can I. You told Joshua You would be with him. He had no reason to fear, and You are with me, too! Nothing I might face in this world is too hard for You to overcome. Yes, Father, I struggle. I think I don’t have the strength to go on when bad times and evil lies befall me. My neck grows too weak to hold up my head. And then I read Your word and welcome Your Holy Spirit to fill me once again. And You raise me up! You have secured for me my full armor! As I buckle my belt of truth, place the helmet of salvation upon my head, cinch the breastplate of righteousness firmly on, step in the shoes which provide readiness to share the gospel of peace—as I hold the shield of faith and grasp the sword of the Spirit, my hope soars! All these pieces of armor are You! You are the victor, and You will work mightily in and through me. Thank You, Lord, for the hope of strength and courage that comes from You! Amen.

Lord, I ask that you lead me to peace and happiness. Lead me away from hate and toward love. From war, give me peace. Lead me from death to eternal life. When I suffer despair and fear, lead me to hope and trust. Lead me away from falsehood and toward your truth. Allow peace to fill my heart, my life and my world. Amen.

Thank you, Lord, for all of your blessings in my life. Thank you for surrounding me with wonderful friends, family members, and neighbors. Thank you for giving us the gift of your beautiful world and all the skies, mountains, and lakes. Thank you for the thrill of celebrations and the enrichment of music. Thank you for all of the animals and creatures that you made. Thank you for giving us the promise of eternity and everlasting life. When I am down or depressed, please remind me of all of the many reasons why I should be thankful and guide my spirit toward your happiness.

There is a reason you brought me to this new day, Lord. Shine brightly through me so that everyone that comes across me today may feel your presence in me. Take my hand, Lord, and teach me to do that which is right.
